Dear Seán,

I refer to your email of 26 August 2024, requesting an update on the status of the arrangements for the Occupational Supplementary Pension (OSP).

I am pleased to inform you that this matter has now been dealt with, and Circular 12/2024 was issued in late July this year, setting out the arrangements for Occupational Supplementary Pensions. These arrangements include a streamlined process for qualifying for the OSP, which addresses the concerns previously raised in relation to the need to exhaust social welfare benefits when accessing an occupational supplementary pension.

Circular 12/2024 is available on the government website at: www.gov.ie/en/circular/8c34a-circular-122024-arrangements-for-occupational-pensions-osp/
