The OPW is currently carrying out a cost benefit analysis assessment for Wicklow Town Courthouse, on behalf of the Courts Service. The subsequent report will provide an order of magnitude budget to re-develop the Courthouse Campus, and will support the decision-making around options appraisals for the site.

In the interim, following a request from the Courts Service to investigate the roof area, the OPW has engaged in a competitive tendering process and a contractor has been selected and is expected to commence works on the roof at the end of September 2024.

The re-instatement of the Wicklow Town Courthouse, or the alternative use of any of its buildings, is ultimately a matter for the Courts Service to decide.
