The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) provides funding for the development and enhancement of outdoor recreational infrastructure such as walking trails, cycleways, water-based recreation sites and mountain trails.
The table below outlines the details of funding drawn down for projects in County Kildare since the beginning of 2021. While 13 projects have been approved in Kildare in that period, funding has only been drawn down on 2 of these projects to date. My Department is committed to ensuring that high quality projects are delivered on foot of approved applications under the range of schemes implemented, and thus engages extensively with local authorities on an ongoing basis in respect of project delivery. As part of this process, Kildare County Council has indicated to my officials that funding drawdowns will be made on a number of ORIS projects in the coming months.
Drawdown Year | Project Name | Grant Amount Claimed |
---|---|---|
2023 | Tow Path Trails Brochure | €19,579.05 |
2023 | Cycle Parking at St Catherine's Park | €10,980.00 |
Total | €30,559.05 |
