The Department's capital allocations are fixed in line with the National Development Plan's (NDP) overall parameters for public investment, as well as this year's announcement by Government of an additional capital allocation being made available in 2025 and 2026. Next year therefore the Department's overall capital envelope will be €2.850bn, an increase of €186m on the original envelope as set in the NDP in 2021. The Department's overall allocation will support the National Transport Authority in the delivery of their extensive programme.
