The pay of employees in the public health sector is set centrally, and adjustments to same stem from the public service agreement, Building Momentum, which was agreed between the staff representative bodies and the State. Only public health sector staff are encompassed by the agreement. Terms and conditions are also set centrally for employees in the public health sector in the same manner.

The pay, terms and conditions of staff employed in organisations privately owned and run, once in line with employment legislation, are strictly a matter between the employer and the employee, however the Deputy may wish to raise his concerns in respect of this cohort directly with the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
