My officials have begun work on a review of the UBU Your Place Your Space scheme, which will inform policy on how best to distribute funding to support young people who are disadvantaged, marginalised or vulnerable.

Officials from my Department are currently carrying out initial scoping in respect of the review of the UBU Your Place Your Space Scheme. The timeline on the commencement of the scheme will be determined by the outcome of the scoping exercise. It is expected that the tendering process for external consultants will begin in the latter part of this year.

In addition, a mapping process is currently underway which will capture all youth services, both youth worker led and volunteer led. The interactive map will integrate Census data and the Pobal deprivation index to identify gaps in youth service provision and enable my Department and stakeholders to develop proposals to expand youth service provision where necessary.
