1734.To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the current status of a property (details supplied); whether his Department received an expression of interest or an application to use this property for the purposes of accommodating either International Protection Accommodation Service persons or beneficiaries of international protection from the war in Ukraine; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am advised that, at this time, my Department is not considering the property to which the Deputy refers for use as accommodation for International Protection applicants or Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection fleeing the war in Ukraine. An offer was received earlier this year for the use of this location for accommodating Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection from Ukraine earlier this year. However this was rejected further to engagement with the relevant County Council.

It should be noted that my Department’s commercial accommodation offers portal for Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection is currently paused and that my Department is not presently contracting additional accommodation for BOTPs from new or existing providers. Anyone wishing to make an offer of commercial accommodation is encouraged to submit it for consideration for use by International Protection applicants.
