1612.To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine how a person who has concerns regarding animal-bird welfare could go about setting up a meeting with a relevant official with a view to discussing these concerns; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30991/24]

I acknowledge your request for information on how a person could go about setting up a meeting with a relevant official from my Department regarding concerns relating to animal-bird welfare.

I would be grateful if the Deputy could provide my office with more information pertaining to this request, so that my Department can establish if this individual’s concerns are within the remit of my Department.

The Deputy may be aware that the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has policy responsibility for wild fauna with includes wild birds.

My Department operates a confidential Animal Welfare helpline, where any cases of suspected abuse or neglect, can be reported.
