The person referred to by the Deputy made representations, under Section 3 (6) of the Immigration Act 1999 (as amended).
I can advise the Deputy that the applicant was granted Permission To Remain (PTR) for 3 years on Stamp 4 basis from 21 June 2024 until 20 June 2027.
Queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to my Department by e-mail using the Oireachtas Mail facility at: , which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Questions process. The Deputy may consider using the e-mail service except in cases where the response is, in the Deputy’s view, inadequate or too long awaited.

The person referred to by the Deputy held a Stamp 1G Graduate immigration permission which expired on 13 July 2024.
The Third Level Graduate Programme was developed for the purpose of enabling a beneficiary to seek graduate level employment and to apply for an employment permit through the Department of Enterprise, Trade or Employment.
When a graduate has completed their studies in Ireland and gained an award at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or above, that person may qualify for a Stamp 1G for 12 months. Where an individual receives an award at Level 9 NFQ, they may qualify for a further extension of 12 months, subject to the overall limit of 8 years on student conditions that applies.
This period on the Stamp 1G immigration permission is to provide the graduate and any prospective employer a longer opportunity to make an application for an employment permit to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment. If that application is successful, the graduate can register on a Stamp 1 immigration permission.
Where a person has completed 2 years on the Stamp 1G and their immigration permission has expired, they require an employment permit to remain and work in the State.
It is also open to the person concerned to apply to the Domestic Residence and Permissions Division of my Department for an extension of their student conditions in order to acquire an employment permit. Applications can be submitted via the online forms system:
