Regeneration Projects

1215.To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the total amount of urban regeneration and development fund funding issued to Fingal County Council in relation to the Dunsink lands. [33680/24]

Through the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) public bodies are receiving targeted support for innovative and holistic solutions that support the regeneration and rejuvenation of our large towns and cities. To date, there have been three Calls for proposals under the URDF with in excess of €1.9 billion allocated to almost 400 projects, located right across the Country. Providing up to a maximum of 75% of approved project costs for applicant-led projects, with the remaining 25% in matched funding arranged by the sponsoring authority, URDF supported projects are now active in every local authority area.

In August 2021 Fingal County Council received approval for their application under Call 2 of the URDF for the 'Dunsink Feasibility Study - Transportation and Surface Water Assessments' in the amount of €41,250, being 75% of the overall cost. The purpose of the Feasibility Study was to investigate whether the Dunsink lands could be a potential strategic landbank for the County. The project is complete and the Dunsink Feasibility Study was published in February 2022; a link to the report is included below.
