923.To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the latest position arising from a meeting held with the language planning officer for the Muscraí Gaeltacht Language Planning Area with Foras na Gaeilge in progressing Maigh Chromtha, County Cork, as a Gaeltacht service town; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Foras na Gaeilge is in ongoing discussions with Comharchumann Forbartha Mhúscraí - the closest Gaeltacht language planning lead organisation to Maigh Chromtha - in an effort to find a lead organisation for the development and implementation of a language plan for the town.
Despite a series of public meetings and discussions with interested parties organised in Maigh Chromtha by Foras na Gaeilge since 2020, no organisation has emerged to oversee the language plan's development and implementation. I understand that Foras na Gaeilge is continuing its efforts to identify a lead organisation and explore other possibilities as necessary, in accordance with the provisions of the Gaeltacht Act 2012.
