Culture Ireland is a unit of my Department with responsibility for the promotion of Irish Arts internationally. In doing so, they work with international presenting partners and annually funded bodies to bring high quality Irish arts, across all artforms, to global audiences.

Through its regular funding scheme, Culture Ireland supports the international presentation of work by hundreds of professional Irish artists each year.

Through its Showcase Programme, Culture Ireland develops opportunities for Irish artists to present their work to promoters at international showcases and arts markets.

Culture Ireland operates See Here, a scheme to support the inward travel to Ireland of international presenters, curators and promoters to see new Irish work available for touring.

Culture Ireland also delivers special Initiatives, which are once-off focus-specific events promoting Irish arts on a global platform such as Zeitgeist Irland 24 – a year-long programme of Irish arts and culture across Germany in 2024, delivered in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Details of the funding allocations for Culture Ireland from 2020 onwards are as follows.

Year Allocation
2024 €7.6m
2023 €6.6m
2022 €4.6m
2021 €4.6m
2020 €4.6m
