The large-scale capital project at the school is included in my Department’s construction programme which will be delivered under the National Development Plan (NDP) as part of the Project Ireland 2040 framework.
The project is at an advanced stage of Architectural Planning Stage 3 – Tender Action and Award. The tender report was reviewed by my Department, and the Letter of Intent was issued 1stJuly 2024. Once the Letter of Intent issues, there is a minimum 14-day standstill period before there can be further progression of the project. The period between Letter of Intent and Letter of Acceptance varies depending on the project and the extent of post-tender clarifications required. The project will progress to the final phase of the tender process, and the Letter of Acceptance can issue, when the standstill period has expired.
The project remains a priority for delivery, in line with the accommodation issues present at the school.
My Department look forward to working with the school community and the design team in the delivery of this important school project.
