As the Deputy may be aware, the purpose of the Summer Works Scheme (SWS) is to enable individual school authorities to undertake small-scale building works on a devolved basis and, ideally, can be carried out during the summer months or at other times that avoid disrupting the operation of the school. The SWS operates on a multi-annual basis for categories of works such as roof works, window replacement, mechanical and electrical works, external works etc. and was last opened for applications in 2019. These applications were approved on a phased basis in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
My department continue to work through these applications, please see below details of the approved projects under the current SWS for the county of Westmeath and their current status.

It should be noted that my department has provided funding in the amount of €2.3 million for completed projects in county Westmeath since the first approvals under the current SWS in 2020 and continues to work with schools with ongoing projects which currently have a projected cost of €1.44 million.
