The Additional School Accommodation project for Mary Queens of Angels 2, Ballyfermot is to provide for a 2 Classroom Special Education Needs base and a toilet for assisted users. The project was devolved for delivery to the school authority who appointed a design team to progress the project through the necessary architectural stages of design, statutory approvals, procurement and construction.
Following the granting of planning permission, my Department requested a Stage 2b architectural report outlining the detailed design drawings and specifications within the agreed project budget, and incorporating any conditions arising from statutory approval. This would enable the preparation pre-tender cost estimate of tender documentation required and to prepare an accurate.
The project forms part of our overall pipeline and each project’s progression to the next stage is done in the context of the management of the overall capital programme in compliance with the Government’s Infrastructure Guidelines. All projects, including this one, undergo the necessary due diligence outlined in the Public Infrastructure Guidelines. Managing timing, scope, and cost is crucial to staying within budgetary limits for the overall program. I am pleased to confirm that the review of this project has been completed and the project was progressed to the next stage (Tender) in May 2024.
