Scully’s Cross and Mausoleum is a an artistically significant important piece of 19th century carving within the setting of the Rock of Cashel, National Monument Number 128, and is considered to be a grave of importance within the site.
The importance of the Cross and quality of the carving is appreciated by the Office of Public Works. However, as the responsibility for the upkeep of graves within the Rock of Cashel complex lies with the families of the deceased, repairs to this or any grave falls outside the remit of the OPW. As such, funding would not be available to undertake such works.
