To ask the Minister for Finance to detail the types of financial instruments used to hold the Social Insurance Fund investment account; the effect the Social Insurance Fund investment account has on the general Government balance when held in sovereign Irish debt; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All funds in the Social Insurance Fund investment account are currently invested in Irish sovereign debt in the form of exchequer notes. Consequently, the Social Insurance Fund investment account has no impact on the general government balance when held in Irish sovereign debt.
