139. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of laptops or mobile phones owned by his Department that have been lost or stolen in each of the past ten years. [29307/24]

A total of 40 laptops or mobile phones owned by this Department that have been lost or stolen in the last ten years. All laptops are security encrypted so it is not possible for any unauthorised user to access any data they may contain. As soon as a device is reported lost or stolen the owner's password is immediately reset and the device itself is blocked from being able to connect to the Departmental network. Finally, the device is marked as lost/stolen in the Departments asset management system for audit purposes.
