I propose to take Questions Nos. 848 and 853 together.
The Deputy will be aware that my Department provides support for many projects around the country through various schemes and programmes. While much of the funding is channelled via the Local Authorities, funding is also provided through other channels such as Local Development Companies, other state agencies and directly from the Department. In that context, the attached spreadsheet gives details of funding allocated on a county basis since 2020 including Co. Cork.
The Deputy will be pleased to note that since 2020, in excess of €140 million has been allocated under these Programmes to Co. Cork from my Department with a further €5.5 million support under the Covid-19 Stability Scheme. In addition, €16.8 million has been made available for the 2023-2027 LEADER Programme with projects yet to be selected in Cork.
The Deputy will also be aware that his own constituency has benefited with major funding through the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund to include over €7.2 million for a number of interventions in the town centre of Macroom for the refurbishment of a vacant church as an arts, community, cultural and heritage facility and over €5 million in Charleville for the repurposing of vacant historic buildings for use as a remote working hub and an Arts and Community Centre.
