108. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the uptake, by county, of the various schemes for microgeneration, and for business-based small-scale generation, under the various supports offered; and his ambitions for scaling up these initiatives by 2030. [29503/24]

Solar PV panels are installed under a number of scenarios and are supported under a number of Department funded and Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) administered schemes.
The Microgeneration Support Scheme (MSS), was launched in February 2022 to support up to 380 MW of new micro-generation by 2030 under the Climate Action Plan 21. This amounts to 60,000 homes and 9,000 non-domestic installations, such as businesses, schools etc, The scheme supports two SEAI schemes: the Domestic Solar PV scheme and the Non-Domestic Microgeneration Scheme (NDGM). The domestic scheme has proved enormously successful since its launch, and further aided by the Government decision to apply a zero percent VAT rate for the ‘Supply and installation of solar panels, since May 2023.
The NDMG scheme has recently been expanded and enhanced to provide grant funding of up to €162,600 for non-domestic installation sizes up to 1 MW capacity. This has equally proved an overwhelming success and has now been extended for 2024, which ensures that sectors such as education and care providers, food and retail businesses, community & leisure organisations, as well as larger commercial enterprises; all have the opportunity of benefiting from an enduring renewable energy solution that can help manage energy costs, whilst also supporting the local energy grid.
The full list of supports for Microgeneration/Solar PV provided through SEAI, since 2018, are provided below.
