The Social Welfare Appeals Office is an Office of the Department of Social Protection which is responsible for determining appeals against decisions in relation to social welfare entitlements. Appeals Officers are independent in their decision making functions.
The table below sets out the number of full time equivalent staff in the Social Welfare Appeals Office:
Appeals Office Staff - as at 8 July 2024
Grade | Full time Equivalent | Posts to be filled |
---|---|---|
Chief Appeals Officer | 1 | 0 |
Deputy Chief Appeals Officer | 2 | 0 |
Appeals Officer | 43 | 0 |
Principal Officer | 1 | 0 |
Assistant Principal Officer | 1 | 0 |
Higher Executive Officer | 3 | 0 |
Executive Officer | 9.4 | 1 |
Clerical Officer | 23.6 | 1 |
TOTAL | 84 | 2 |
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
