494. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if all social welfare claim forms can be available to download online; if she is aware of the delay between emailing a request for a form and form being received, and the adverse effect of this on individuals who do not have access to MyGov; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department provides multiple channels for the public to access Social Welfare Application forms:
- In person - by visiting their local Intreo Centre
- Online – application forms can be downloaded from Gov.ie website. Alternatively, people can use our “Request a Postal Form” which is also available on the Gov.ie website.
- By phone – by contacting the National Intreo Contact Centre for Intreo scheme forms or by phoning other scheme areas directly.
- An Post – a selection of Social Welfare application forms is available in each Post Office.
My Department is undertaking a review of those forms not yet available online with a view to improving accessibility.
I understand that not everyone has online access, and I am committed to ensuring that the schemes and services that my Department provides are accessible to all.
