To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of adults under 65 years living in a nursing home and supported under the fair deal scheme in 2023 and 2024; the measures his Department has undertaken to address the Wasted Lives report published by the Ombudsman in 2021; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Children Equality Disability Integration and Youth does not directly fund any charitable voluntary groups. Under Section 39 of the 2004 Health Act funding is provided by the Health Service Executive. I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to you directly in relation to this matter.
