The school referred to by the Deputy was approved to enter the Department’s pipeline of school buildings for a project to provide 6 mainstream classrooms and 5 SET rooms plus 1 admin/office.The project has been devolved for delivery to the school authority.
My Department received a Stage 3 (tender report) which was reviewed from both a technical and cost perspective. All projects, including this one, are subject to required due diligence as specified in the Public Infrastructure Guidelines.
I am pleased to advise that following the completion of this review process, officials from my Department have confirmed that the project has been approved to progress to the next stage, which involves approval to construction.
Official communication will be issued to the school authority in the coming days advising them of this, and It is then within the remit of the school authority to progress this project accordingly.
