To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if he will detail the circumstances allowing sports organisations operating on the Curragh Plains in County Kildare to fence in their facilities, as in the case of three organisations (details supplied); if it was a condition attached to permission to fence that the clubs acquire a number of sheep grazing rights in order to proceed with the work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am advised that the Department did not require the clubs in question to acquire sheep rights prior to the fencing of their lands.
