499. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills for a list of all health and social care courses offered in the State; the number of students enrolled on each course; the average annual cost to the State of delivering the courses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27889/24]

The enrolment data for the academic year 2022/2023 for all programmes under the health and welfare education category, is contained in the attached spreadsheet. This data was obtained from the Higher Education Authority (HEA) Student Records System (SRS) and is rounded to the nearest five (or multiple of 5).
The Department does not have the average annual costing for all health and social care programmes.
The university sector collects full economic costing data .The full economic cost of each student enrolled as an undergraduate student will vary depending on the discipline.
The estimated total cost per undergraduate nursing and healthcare disciplines per student is c.€10,000 – €11,000 per student per year.
The estimated total cost of educating an undergraduate medical student is c.€28,000 per student per year.
