289. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the number of persons arrested and charged with residential burglary within the R district of the DMR in 2023 and to date in 2024, in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26789/24]

As you will be aware, in accordance with the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (as amended), the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána, including all operational policing matters. As Minister, I have no role in these matters, nor can I direct the Commissioner with regard to them.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a search of the PULSE database was conducted for all incidents of 'residential burglary' in the R district of the Dublin Region where a person was subsequently arrested, and which resulted in a charge.

I am advised that the count of unique charges created in 2023 and in 2024, up to 17 June 2024 is set out in the table below.
