I can confirm that my Department is investigating suspected animal welfare related offences that may have occurred on mart premises arising from the footage broadcast by RTE on 10 July 2023.

The Department is continuing its evidence gathering in relation to these specific incidents and appropriate action will be taken.

Since these investigations are on-going, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
