Invalidity Pension (IP) is a payment for people who are permanently incapable of work because of illness or incapacity and for no other reason and who satisfy the contribution conditions.

The processing time for individual IP claims may vary in accordance with their relative complexity in terms of the main qualifying criteria, the person’s circumstances and information that may need to be provided in support of their claim.

The person concerned has been awarded IP with effect from 15 February 2024 and will receive first payment to his nominated bank account on 27 June 2024. Any arrears due from 15 February 2024 to 26 June 2024 will issue shortly. The person concerned was notified of this decision on 14 June 2024.

I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
