Since August 2020 Import Controls Operations Division of my Department has rejected 504 consignments of food, products of animal origin and plant products, from countries outside the EU for breaches of traceability guidelines.

These rejected consignments were denied access to the Irish market and were either re-dispatched, subjected to special treatment or destroyed at the importers expense.
