96. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if her Department and each body and agency under the remit of her Department has achieved the Government-mandated public sector remote working target of 20%; when this was achieved in each instance; the current percentage of staff working remotely; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Government has committed, in the Programme for Government, to mandating public sector employees to move to 20% home and remote working. In my Department 97% of staff are eligible to avail of remote working.

In October 2022, in conjunction with the Blended Working Policy Framework for Civil Service Organisations, my Department published it’s formal Blended Working Policy, which allows eligible staff to apply for remote working.

I am advised that my Department has achieved this 20% target. I am further advised that currently 81% of total staff in my Department avail of blended working.

With regard to bodies under the aegis of my Department, the information sought by the Deputy is an operational matter for those bodies and not something for which I have direct day-to-day responsibility.
