153.To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport on if his Department will reconsider LUAS speed of 19.5 km/hr when the average road speed limit of the same commute is more than 50km/hr; what is being done to improve commute time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25241/24]

As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The issue raised by the Deputy in relation to increasing speed limits for the LUAS is a matter for Transdev. Therefore, I have referred the Deputy's question to Transdev for direct response to the Deputy.
