427.To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the basis on which the Abbey bridge, Naas, County Kildare is proposed for closure on whatever grounds given that the bridge was built in the first instance to facilitate local traffic as a crossing point; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Waterways Ireland is a North/South Implementation Body established under the British Irish Agreement of 10 April 1998. It is funded by my Department and the Department for Infrastructure in Northern Ireland.
