To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the frequency with which Iarnród Éireann carries out a mass evacuation training plan among its staff from trains and stations in the event of a major accident happening either within stations and-or onboard trains; and the number of these mass evacuation training plans carried out in 2023 and to date in 2024 in tabular form. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The issue raised is a matter for Iarnród Éireann and I have therefore referred the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
