All live animals being imported or exported must travel with a health certificate validated by an official veterinarian specifying that the animals fulfil the basic animal health requirements as set out in relevant EU regulations.
My Department does not retain information on veterinary certification for imported sheep prior to 2017. The table hereunder provides data on the quantities of live sheep imported annually for the years 2017 to 2023 inclusive.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Office, the quantity of raw sheepmeat exported from the State for the years 2014 to 2023 is presented in the tabular format below.
The total volume exported for the reference period is 582,701 tonnes yielding an annual average of 58,270 tonnes.
Note that this data excludes small quantities of goatmeat exports which are usually classified under the sheepmeat subheading for customs and statistical purposes.
