411. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to explain the error in an ANC payment for a person (details supplied) from his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5690/24]

An application for participation in the 2023 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) scheme was received from the above named applicant on the 25^thMay, 2023. The applicant did not receive an advance payment due to an overclaim with the land parcel B1420100022. This was subsequently resolved.

At the time of ANC payment issuance, January 15^th2024, a request to remove the ANC penalty amount attached to this herd owner was also requested. This should have resulted in the issuance of a further €595.29 to the herd owner along with the ANC payment of €747.03. On foot of the correspondence received, ANC Section have followed up with the Debt Recovery Section to ensure the penalty amount was removed.

Debt Recovery have advised that the ANC penalty has been removed and payment in the amount of €595.29 will issue to the above named herd owner and will be lodged to their nominated bank account as soon as possible.
