200. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will liaise with the TFI and Dublin Bus to ensure that all literature, both hard copy and electronic, classifies child leap cards as covering the age range of 5-18, in line with the UN Convention on the rights of the child which define a child as being aged 18 and below (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the regulation of fares in relation to public passenger transport services.

In light of the Authority's responsibility in this area, I have forwarded the Deputy's query to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
