248. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will engage with the RSA in respect of the official driving test routes at a test centre in the context of their fairness (details supplied); if the RSA will review the routes and work with the local authority to remark the road and consider alternative locations to test drivers. Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service. As such, neither I nor my officials have the power to directly intervene with regard to driving test routes.

Given the RSA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct reply and a more detailed response on the issues raised. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service, including holding the detailed statistics sought. As such, I have referred the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
