955. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason a 40% grant was paid to persons (details supplied) in County Mayo instead of a 60% grant in view of the fact the application was in respect of the young farmer capital investment scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Scheme provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holdings. The persons named submitted a claim under TAMS II (under the Young Farmer Capital Investment Scheme) on 14 June 2023. The 40% claim and 20% top up payment was approved on 30 June 2023 and the payment was processed on 7 July 2023.
My Department has been in contact with the above-named applicants and have clarified how the payment was calculated in this instance. The applicants are now satisfied that they have received the full grant aid due to them as outlined in the terms and conditions of the scheme.
