718. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection to confirm whether a person who resumes paid employment after applying for jobseekers, but before their application is approved, is entitled to backdated payments once their application is approved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Where a person makes a claim for a jobseeker's payment and resumes their paid employment before a decision is made on their claim, all backdated payments due to the person are paid from the date of their claim application provided that the person satisfies all the qualifying conditions for that payment.

I trust this clarifies the issue for the Deputy.
