To ask the Minister for Health the reason certain anti-seizure medications are not covered under the long-term illness scheme, despite being used in the treatment of epilepsy, which is a specified condition under the LTI (details supplied); if he will provide details on the processes required to have these formulations of medications covered under the LTI; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Health Service Executive (HSE) has statutory responsibility for pricing and reimbursement decisions under the community schemes, in accordance with the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013. Therefore, this matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
