To ask the Minister for Finance further to Parliamentary Question No. 297 of 25 July 2023, in respect of the NTMA, if he can seek clarity on the “Other” payment of €54,462 and confirm that this was paid as accrued holidays; if he can confirm that the NTMA does not provide a vehicle or any other transport benefits to the CEO as indicated in the return (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) has advised me that a payment of €54,462 to the NTMA CEO for annual leave accrued and owed was paid upon completion of term.

The NTMA CEO contract of employment does not contain provision for a car allowance or transport benefits.

The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland have confirmed to the Department of Finance that the bonus payment of €30,000 to the Chief Executive Officer represents a discretionary performance related payment approved by the SBCI Board.

The professional subscriptions indicated were memberships of the Institute of Bankers and of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
