818. To ask the Minister for Health if his Department or any agency under the aegis of his Department operates a ‘barter account’ for the provision of goods or services; if so, if payments have been directed to be made to a barter account during the period 2011 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Dear Deputy Nolan,

I refer to your Parliamentary Question of Thursday 6 July 2023 (Reference: 34150/23).

‘To ask the Minister for Health if his Department or any agency under the aegis of his Department operates a ‘barter account’ for the provision of goods or services; if so, if payments have been directed to be made to a barter account during the period 2011 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. .’

The response to this query will require the collection of information from suppliers who previous worked for the Department of Health back to 2011. It will also require collection of information from the 19 other agencies falling under the aegis of the Department of Health and their related suppliers going back to 2011. My officials will collate this information and share with the Deputy as soon as is possible.

Kind regards
