In relation to the particular queries raised, the National Treatment Purchase Fund has provided the table linked below, details of which are taken from completed and certified Annual Financial Statements.

The table outlines the total funding received by the NTPF, the expenditure incurred, and the total number of patients treated in each year from 2004 to 2021. The NTPF has advised that a breakdown of the number of patients treated between private and public hospitals is commercially sensitive. As an alternative they have provided a breakdown of expenditure between public and private hospitals since 2011 when that information became available.

The NTPF has further advised that for 2015 & 2016 the procurement of treatments was carried out by the HSE and the role of the NTPF was administration of the payments to the hospitals.
