I propose to take Questions Nos. 357 and 358 together.

Culture Ireland is a unit of my Department with responsibility for the promotion of Irish Arts internationally. In doing so, they work with International presenting partners and annually funded bodies to bring high quality Irish arts, across all artforms, to global audiences.

In 2023 Culture Ireland's allocation is €6.6m. The table below shows the impact of increases of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% on this figure:

Increase 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%
€ million €6.93 €7.26 €7.59 €7.92 €8.25

Any changes to the allocation for Culture Ireland in 2024 will be determined as part of the Budget 2024 process.

In terms of expenditure, Culture Ireland does not have a dedicated capital allocation. Details of the current funding allocations for Culture Ireland from 2005 onwards are as follows.

Year Allocation
2023 €6.6m
2022 €4.6m
2021 €4.6m
2020 €4.6m
2019 €4.6m
2018 €4m
2017 €3.5m
2016 €2.5m
2015 €2.5m
2014 €2.5m
2013 €3.2m

2009 €4.5m
2008 €4.7m
2007 €4.5m

Further details of 2022 and 2023 allocations can be found in the published Revised Estimates Volume for 2023, available at www.gov.ie/en/collection/e20037-revised-estimates/#2023.

In relation to annual expenditure relating to Culture Ireland since 2005, I would refer the Deputy to the published annual appropriation accounts at www.audit.gov.ie/en/publications/appropriation%20accounts/#:~:text=Appropriation%20Accounts%202021,expenditure%20related%20to%20each%20Vote
