To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the number of persons that appeared before a court in 2021, 2022 and to date in 2023 for rape, sexual assault; child sexual abuse; sexual harassment; rape within a relationship and child pornography; and the number of persons convicted of the same offences over the corresponding timeframe. As the Deputy will be aware, management of the courts, operational matters and logistical functions are the responsibility of the judiciary and Courts Service, which are independent in exercising their functions under the Courts Service Act 1998 and given the separation of powers in the Constitution.
