To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the total number of construction technical professionals, including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and so on, employed by his Department, or public bodies under the aegis of his Department, to oversee construction projects on behalf of public bodies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that there are no staff of the nature specified in this question employed by my Department.
With the exception of the Office of Public Works (OPW), this is also the case for the bodies under the aegis of my Department. The information with regard to the OPW is set out in the table below.
