1311. To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if he will clarify whether a State body (details supplied) will engage in a public consultation process in the development of a code of conduct concerning the Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2022; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Part 4 of the Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023 provides for the preparation of a Code of Practice for the purpose of practical guidance to employers and employees on the rights to request remote working and flexible working as introduced in Parts 2A and 3 of the Act.

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment will, in consultation with myself, ask the Workplace Relations Commission to prepare and submit a draft Code of Practice. The WRC will invite representations from trade unions, employer representative bodies and the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, which will be taken into consideration before the submission of the draft code. Once approved, the Code of Practice will be published on the WRC website.
