1055. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if he will clarify whether the recent changes to the atypical workers scheme for non-EAA fishers, that is, those that can apply for stamp 4, impact any regulations concerning their working on Irish fishing vessels under 15 metres in length. Any person on a stamp 4 immigration permission is not required to hold an employment permit in order to work in the State. As such any non-EEA fisherman who has been granted a stamp 4 immigration permission may continue to work with their current employer and fishing vessel or may transfer to any other employer or fishing vessel or seek alternative employment elsewhere in the State.

Information on the different immigration permissions and the conditions that apply to them is available on my Department’s website here: www.irishimmigration.ie/registering-your-immigration-permission/information-on-registering/immigration-permission-Stamps/#passport-Stamping
