To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the reason for the breakdown on the Bus Éireann route 32 Letterkenny to Dublin on 23 February 2023; if he is satisfied with the measures being taken to prevent future interruptions in this service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

Further, Bus Éireann's Expressway services, including route 32, are commercial bus services and responsibility for the operation of those services is a matter for the company.

I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to Bus Éireann for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
